Terms and Conditions

Your acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined are required to process your reservation.

Prepayment and subsequent confirmation by Fiordland Trips and Tramps is accepted as confirmation of your booking.

CANCELLATIONS

Please contact us by email if you need to cancel or change your booking.

1. Refunds are available when we receive your cancellation or amendment request by email at least 7 days before your departure date. Any refund will be for the ticket price paid, less the 2.95% credit card fee, if applicable.

2. Date changes requested within 7 days of departure are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Additional charges may apply if the price for your new date is higher.

Vouchers purchased through third-party companies are subject to that company’s cancellation and refund policy.

PAYMENT

Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. is a New Zealand business. All prices on our website are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include 15% GST (Goods and Services Tax). We only accept payments in NZD.

Payments are processed through RezdyPay (powered by Stripe). Your booking is confirmed once we have received your payment and sent you a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please contact us to check that your booking has been processed.

If a billing error occurs, we reserve the right to issue a revised invoice with the correct price. You may request a full refund if this happens.

If your bank declines a payment, please contact your bank to resolve the issue. This may be due to your account status or your card not being enabled for online purchases.

The name on your credit card statement will be Trips & Tramps. A 2.95% transaction fee applies and is non-refundable.

RISK DISCLOSURE STATEMENT

Fiordland is a remote and rugged wilderness environment. Participating in outdoor activities in this region involves inherent risks that may impact your safety, comfort, and the delivery of our tours. These risks include, but are not limited to:

• Environmental hazards such as rapidly changing weather, earthquakes, tsunamis, avalanches, flooding, landslides, and rough or uneven terrain.
• Remoteness from immediate medical assistance or emergency services.
• Travel risks associated with transportation on sealed or unsealed roads, boats, and aircraft operated by third-party providers.
• Physical challenges of guided hikes, which may include sustained walking over steep, slippery, or uneven surfaces, and the potential for injury, fatigue, or medical events.

Trips and Tramps Ltd. operates under a robust Safety Management System designed to identify, manage, and respond to hazards and emergencies across all tours and transport services. However, some risk is inherent and cannot be entirely eliminated.

To help us ensure your safety, you must:

• Disclose any relevant medical conditions at the time of booking, and advise us of any changes prior to departure.
• Wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring all required equipment (please refer to the “What to Bring” section for your specific tour).
• Follow all instructions given by your guide.
• Ensure that children in your care do the same.

The guide reserves the right to modify the trip itinerary, or to exclude any guest from participation (including future tours), if they believe a person’s health, preparedness, conduct, or gear poses a risk to themselves or others, or if tour conditions require a change.

Trips and Tramps Ltd. may cancel, postpone, or alter tours due to weather conditions, safety considerations, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, a partial refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

By booking and participating in a Trips and Tramps activity, you acknowledge and accept the risks described above, and agree that you have been advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance for all participants named on the booking.

In participating in the activity, the customer confirms:

• They are physically fit to participate, have disclosed any relevant medical information, and meet the minimum fitness levels required.
• They consent to receive medical treatment in the case of injury, accident, or illness during the activity and to indemnify the Operator against any claims, costs or expenses in respect of the evacuation and or treatment.
• They will bring suitable clothing, footwear and equipment for the tour as outlined.
• They will follow the directions of Trips and Tramps staff and any third-party operators, and will participate in good faith.
• Caregivers will supervise their children at all times and ensure they follow the directions of staff and third-party operators.

COMPLAINTS OR OTHER COMMENTS

Any complaints regarding the event will be directed to and dealt with by Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. at info@tripsandtramps.com

Privacy

Trips & Tramps respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. Our Public Privacy Statement explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and how you can access or correct your information.

Website Information and Access

Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. reserves the right, at any time, at its discretion, to suspend access to the Website. Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. shall not be obliged to give any reason for such suspension.

Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. reserves the right, at any time, at its discretion, to remove or edit any information entered on the Website that it considers to be unsuitable, misleading, out of date, inappropriate, contrary to any law or not optimised for search engine results.

Governing law

This agreements’ terms of use and the provision of goods and service by us are governed by and to be interpreted in accordance with the laws in force in New Zealand and in the event of any dispute arising in relation to these terms of use or their subject matter you irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand over such dispute

In the event that any liability is attributed to the Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd., such liability is limited to the price paid by you to Fiordland Trips and Tramps Ltd. for the activity purchased on this website.

If any provision of the Terms & Conditions of this agreement are found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, such invalidity or unenforceability will not affect the remainder of the Terms & Conditions which will continue in full force and effect.
